Etac, a world-leading developer of innovative assistive devices and patient handling equipment, is excited to announce the acquisition of Klaxon Mobility GmbH in Austria. The acquisition complements Etac’s manual wheelchair portfolio with stateof-the-art power assist solutions and enables Etac to offer a complete mobility portfolio for wheelchair users.

Founded in 2015 by Enrico Boaretto and Andrea Stella, Klaxon is an innovative developer of power assist solutions. The
idea of producing mobility solutions for people in wheelchairs came from the founders’ realisation that it is easier to cross the ocean in a sailing boat than to move around the city. Since then, Klaxon has become known as one of the most innovative players in the field and launched several creative and cutting-edge power assist products that just in a “klick” can be easily engaged and disengaged.

Over 180 athletes from 25 countries with 118 boats competing – it’s truly an amazing success for a sport that shows how barriers can be overcome. Sport is everyone’s right, and we need commitment from the institutions so that its exercise can overcome any physical and environmental obstacles. On the extraordinary positive example of Paralympic champions, I can only hope that sport will become more and more an instrument of inclusion, social participation and personal affirmation. In 2021 Klaxon will once again be the main sponsor of the “WoW – Wheels On Waves” project, offering people with disabilities the chance to enjoy a unique experience on board the fully accessible catamaran “Lo Spirito di Stella”, totally free of charge.
Once again this year we want to put a smile on the faces of children with disabilities and their families by offering them the opportunity to spend an unforgettable day.
WOW guests will also be able to take advantage of a number of Klick Monsters, special aids with a 1500 Watt motor, which, thanks to their oversized wheels, allow them to easily overcome any type of terrain, for an exciting ride along the shoreline.
This year the tour of Italy starts again under the banner of Universal Design and sustainability with the project “WOW – 4 All”.

Klaxon is one of the official partners of the event held annually in Treviso, sponsored and organized by Deborah Compagnoni, triple Olympic gold medalist in alpine skiing, together with the association “Sciare per la vita Onlus”.
“The aim of “Camminare per la vita” is to raise funds for “Città delle Speranza” the Europe’s largest research centre for childhood diseases.
